Senior Backend Engineer, Payments

About the role

Every checkout, renewal, and payout on Vint runs through the payments core. You’ll design and scale the systems that move money reliably across 100+ countries, where correctness matters more than cleverness and five nines is the baseline.

What you’ll do

• Design and build services for authorization, capture, refunds, and payouts across multiple payment processors

• Own idempotency, retries, and reconciliation so no transaction is ever lost or double-counted

• Improve observability and incident response for high-volume, latency-sensitive flows

• Partner with product and compliance to ship new payment methods and markets

• Mentor engineers and raise the bar on code review and system design

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years building backend systems in production, ideally in Go, Kotlin, or TypeScript

• Hands-on experience with distributed systems, queues, and relational databases at scale

• A strong instinct for correctness, testing, and failure modes

• Experience with payments, ledgers, or fintech is a big plus
